0815 on the morning of the 18th June saw the battle joined. Representing Virgin Traders was Captain Damian Pearson, VT's General Manager and he was ably supported by Barry (Bazza) Mitchell (not sure what Barry does but....I am sure he is good at it, at least he tells us he is..!)
The visitors (See previous News Release) Matt Dawson and Martin Corry were first time visitors to the USVI course on St Thomas called 'Mahogany Run', nevertheless they were confident of victory over the 'local lads'.
18 holes later th VT team claimed victory by a narrow margin, bearing in mind Martin (Cozza) Corry and Matt (Daws) Dawson may return here.....Both of them played magnificently !!! Cozza's mastery of the booming drive and subsequent 'bushcraft' in the deep mark him as a player to watch, carefully from a long long way away!!!
Daws.....nice try with the jungle noises, but on this occasion even these skills in swerving were not enough to handle the power of Captain D and the Booming Bazza!.
As soon as our team has recovered from the Match we look forward to a return game...
