This is everyone's mental image of a deserted tropical island, and indeed it is, nothing here at all but sand and palm trees. Sandy Spit is just off Jost Van Dyke which is an island and part of the British Virgin Islands. You anchor off in good holding, dinghy ashore to nothing but the sound of waves washing onto the beach.
